Forres is an extremely welcoming location for a queer wedding. St Laurence’s Church is directly opposite Ye Olde Queer Tartan Museum. It was formerly Church of Scotland and is now a community run arts centre with rooms available to hire. It was recently used to film a Hollywood drama called The Reception about a wedding that goes awry. Directed by Trudy Styler with a stellar cast including John Cleese.
The Mosset Tavern is a 2 minute walk from the Museum on the banks of the river Mosset with a large function suite and bar. The Mosset has hosted queer breakfast events for many years.
